The under 8’s first game of the season in the New Forest District Girls league saw them face Pace, on a sunny Saturday morning the girls looked up for the game from the first minute with probably one of the fastest goals ever seen, they extended the lead but pace showed determination and got themselves back in the game.

But with true grit and fight the girls started showing everything they have been taught, breaking away quickly, pressing, passing and attacking really well and coming away with a fantastic result.

Both teams were a credit to their clubs and showed just what grass roots football is all about and exactly why girls and women’s football is getting so much bigger.

The under 8’s then travelled to reading the following week to play in one of the leagues mini festivals, playing four games they ended unbeaten scoring a total of 15 goals and only conceding one.

All the girls throughout the team are really progressing well and developing at such a speed, which is showing in the way they play and really playing football that is beyond their years.

The future certainly looks good for both sets of girls.
